James E. Cross, Jr.
James E. Cross Jr. graduated from Wake Forest University in 1970 and Wake Forest Law School in 1973. He was a board certified specialist in Real Property Law: Residential Transaction 1989-2019. He is the former chair of the N.C. State Bar Board of Legal Specialization, as well as a former member of the N.C. State Bar Board of Governors. Mr. Cross currently is designated as Super Lawyer in Estate Planning and Probate and was awarded one of eleven 2020 N.C. Bar Association Citizen of the Year Awards. Mr. Cross provides legal services in the areas of wills and trust, estate planning, estate probate and administration, commercial and residential real property, and business law.
Sam B. Currin, III
Sam B. Currin, III graduated from Wake Forest University in 1968 and Wake Forest Law School in 1971. He then practiced law for a year in Raleigh before returning to Oxford to practice with the firm Walkins & Edmundson. Following that, he served as Special Counsel at John Umstead Hospital for several years until he opened up a solo practice in Oxford in 1977. He has served as District Attorney in the Ninth Prosecutorial District and was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Prime for his service. Mr. Currin joined the firm of Royster & Cross in 2015 and became of partner of the firm Cross & Currin in 2017. Mr. Currin has also served as Chairman of the Red Cross, the Heart Fund, and the Cancer Fund, and currently specializes in traffic defense.
M. Walker Brummitt
M. Walker Brummitt graduated from Campbell University Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in the class of 2020, where he received his Juris Doctor. He sat for and passed the
July, 2020, Multi-state Bar Exam and began working as an Associate Attorney at Cross & Currin, LLP on October 1, 2020.
Prior to his law school career, he graduated from Wake Forest University in the class of 2017. He received a B.A., with a Double Major in Politics and International Affairs and History.
Walker currently provides legal services in the areas of wills and trust, estate planning, estate probate and administration, and residential TRID closings.
